Halloween Daredevil Costumes Variations
DareDevil character Matthew Michael Murdock is a blind crime fighting chacater in the Marvel comics "Dare
Devil" series. Hailing from New York City, he goes blind from a radio active substance that spews from a passing
vehicle. While he loses his eyesight, his other abilites are enhanced ten fold. His dad is a major role in his life
but is unfortunately murdered for refusing to partake in a street fight, Matthew creats a red costime and decides
to take the law into his own hands by fighting criminals around NYC, going by the name of DareDevil, who is
acrobatic and fearless. His outfit and logo changes throughout the comic book series, however, so you have several
styles to choose from
In the older, original Daredevil comics, his uniform was mainly yellow with a red vest and gloves and
doned a sing D in the front but this later evolved to DD. The DD version of the costume has become much more
popular over the years and will likely be the easier version to find. It initiually had a Billy club sheath
straddled to the back but this was later stripped from the character because it looked rather campy or cheesy. In
issue number seven, he switched to the popular red costume used in the Hollywood production with Ben Afflick and
Jennifer Gardner. This became the popular outfit and dominated costume shops. For a couples them, it is not
uncommon for a female to dress as Elektra, Daredevil's side kick.
If you are aiming for a barebones costume and are on a budget, go with a muscle top paired with blackpants
and a cheap Daredevil mask. Or, get a plain red top, black bottoms and a red facemask paired with black shoes. This
is the cheapest way to go if you don't have the money to splurge on the expensive gear.
Either way you go, just remember that it's how you look and feel that's important. Get the opinions of
friends on what looks the best and try to stick out a bit from the crowd. Something you make or design yourself
will help you standout if someone else chooses to be the same character you are and you purchased your suit from
the same retail chain or manufacturer. Rememebr, uniqueness sometimes goes a long way with Halloween costumes, so
rather than rushing out and getting whatever is easy, try putting a little bit of effort into it. You may be
surprised by others reactions.
