Halloween Vintage Costume Ideas
There are only a few months left before the Halloween fever hits the world again as it does every year. People hold
costume parties and try to outdo each other's costumes. You can forget about vampire costumes or zombie costumes
because those costumes are usually already taken. It would be very annoying to see two or three other people
wearing the same costume you are in a party. For a more original look, you can try dressing up in Halloween vintage
costume. The Halloween vintage look is a sure winner. And since you can choose from any decade in the past for
inspiration, the chances of showing up to a party and finding other people with the same costumes are significantly
lower. Here are some great ideas for a Halloween vintage look.
The Twenties
You can dress up as a 1920s gangster just like those really old Mafia movies. All you'll need is a black suit, a
toy Tommy gun or violin case and a fedora hat. If you're a girl, you might want to consider wearing a Flapper
outfit. All you'll need is a head band, a wig with short hair (you can also have your hair cut if you want), and a
drop waist dress.
The Thirties
You can dress up as Bonnie and Clyde or a Jazz big band member. For the Bonny and Clyde look, you have to look for
an accomplice. The Bonnie look will need an old dress, a beret and a trench coat. The Clyde look, on the other
hand, will need a fedora hat, old trousers and a suit jacket. To dress up as a Jazz big band member, all you need
is a cane, a watch, a long pocket and a Zoot suit. It would help if you had a horn, trumpet or some other
instrument that you could carry around.
The Forties
A Carmen Miranda would be the perfect costume for a forties look. You'll need a halter top, some ruffles from old
clothes, lightweight fake fruit, a sarong with tropical prints and some espadrilles.
The Fifties
Couples might want to dress up as a greaser couple. The girl would need high heels, a scarf, a leather jacket,
tight pants or leggings and a boat neck shirt. The guys will need a motorcycle jacket, black boots, black denim
pants and a white t-shirt.
The Sixties
You could dress up as your favourite Beatle. All you'll need is a wig and an old fashioned sixties suit. You could
also dress up as a hippie with a loose shirt, a headband and bell bottom jeans. You could also go as Holly
Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany's. All you'll need is a tiara, a heavy pearl necklace, a little black dress,
long white gloves, and a pair of oversized sunglasses.
The Seventies
You can dress up as a 70s rock star. All you'll need is an old band t shirt, studded belts, spandex pants or acid
wash jeans, a leather jacket and some leather cuffs.
