How to Make Harry Potter Clothes for Halloween
The old, boring wizard costumes are now a thing of the past. Nowadays, most kids would rather dress up in Harry
Potter clothes than wear the traditional wizard or witch costumes. Harry Potter is one of the most popular
characters in the world, and it is no wonder that kids want to be like him. In a few months, kids will start to get
excited about Halloween and many will want their own set of Harry Potter clothes.
Making a set of Harry Potter clothes is easy and fun. It can also be a lot cheaper than buying a real Harry Potter
costume. Follow the instructions below to make a convincing costume.
You will need a few materials, but most of these things can be found lying around your house. You will need some
clear tape, jeans, sneakers, a long sleeved shirt with stripes, a pair of round rimmed glasses, hair mousse, make
up, a Styrofoam ball, a black cape or a red cape, gold paint, a couple of feathers, and a small wooden stick.
The first thing you have to do is to put some clear tape in the bridge of your round glasses. The glasses will look
just like the pair that Harry Potter uses. Wear your jeans and sneakers. You can then put on your long sleeved
shirt. Preferably, the shirt should be orange with a red stripe in the middle.
Use some hair mousse or hair gel to fix your hair just like Harry Potter would. Use a picture of Harry Potter for
reference while doing this. Mess up your hair just like Harry does. If your hair looks too different from Harry's
(i.e. you have long hair or your hair is of a different colour), you can just buy a wig from the costume shop.
Bring out your makeup and use it to make a lighting-shaped scar on your forehead, just like Harry's scar. You can
use pink lipstick or pink lip liner for this step. You can then wear a black cape for Harry's uniform. If you want
to copy Harry's quidditch uniform, you can use a red cape.
You can now make some of Harry's accessories. Make a snitch by painting a Styrofoam ball gold. You can also use
gold spray paint or a gold-coloured marker. Stick two small white feathers at the sides of the ball to complete the
prop. You can also make a Harry Potter broomstick by using an old broom, some sandpaper, paint, dried twigs, and
some dark wood stain. Sand the handle of the broom and coat it with dark wood stain. Then, tie some old twigs onto
the bottom to make it more realistic. You can then add gold or silver paint as accents of the broom to make it look
just like Harry Potter's Firebolt Broom. Bring the broom along with your snitch and wear the red cape. You will
look like you've just come from a quidditch match.
