Walk in a Queen Elizabeth Costume on Halloween
Wear a Queen Elizabeth costume this Halloween. Halloween is one of the most popular holidays because of the many
activities that people do during this season. There are a lot of activities for people of all ages. There's
trick-or-treating for the kids and kids at heart, fun games for families and friends and, of course, the exciting
costume parties for everyone. Halloween may still be months ahead, but most people prepare for this celebration
ahead of time so there's no reason you can't, too. Before all the trick-or-treating and Halloween parties, you
first have to think of the costume that you are going to wear.
Don't be part of the crowd that wears what everyone's wearing. A witch costume is too common already. Be unique
and make heads turn by wearing a Queen Elizabeth costume. Show off your beauty and be the queen of the ball. Let
everyone be envious of your costume.
You don't have to spend money on a Queen Elizabeth costume. Making your own is a great idea if you don't want to
think of the possibility of running into somebody wearing the same costume as you are.
Have the following things ready:
* A pair of fabric scissors
* Taffeta
* Thread, needle and sewing machine
* Corset laces and upholstery fabric
* White fabric and ruffle fabric trim
* Elastic
* Button of any color that you like
* Fake jewels
* Red hair dye or wig (optional)
Here are the steps you can follow to make a Queen Elizabeth costume.
For the Skirt
1. Measure and cut the taffeta fabric to 1 yard x 2 yards. Gather the fabric, fold it in half and put the short
edges together.
2. Take the shorter edges and sew them together on the opposite part of the fold. Fold back and sew one raw edge of
the fabric. Form the waistline of your skirt by hemming the other edge of the cloth. Make sure to leave an opening
of about an inch.
3. Measure your waist and cut an elastic long enough for your waist. Use the opening to thread and gather the
taffeta fabric.
4. Sew together the ends of the elastic. Sew the one-inch opening on the waist.
For Your Corset
* Make your corset using with the upholstery fabric and corset laces.
For a Ruffled Collar
1. Measure and cut the white fabric with a width of 5 inches. Measure the circumference of your neck. Your fabric
should be about 2 inches longer than your neck's circumference.
2. Hem the fabric. Sew a button on one end and a button-hole on the other end.
3. Take a few pieces of ruffled fabric trims and put these on the collar.
Design
Now that you have your skirt, corset and ruffled collar, the next step is to design your ensemble with jewels.
Of course, when wearing a Queen Elizabeth costume, you also have to polish up on your queenly characteristics.
Don't just wear the costume; act like a true queen. Walk the walk and talk the talk, as they say.
