How to Make your Very Own Black Lightsaber
If you are one of the fans of the epic Star Wars saga, then it is almost as natural as breathing that you would
consider the black lightsaber as the best invented weapon since the dawn of Hitler. Indeed, the lightsaber is one
of those weapons that every gamer would like to get their hands on.
So if you want to use a black lightsaber that will be your icing on the cake with your Star Wars costume during
Halloween parties, then this guide is for you. This will help you create your very own lightsaber by just using
tools that are presently available in your local hardware stores.
Of course, the first step that you will have to do is to gather all your equipments. For this project, you will
need 2 chrome plumbing pipes (6" with 1.5' diameter), O-rings to enhance your Jedi grip, rubber garbage disposal
gaskets, automotive weather-sealing, rubber anti-slip pad, magnetic tape, adhesive, D-ring or substitute ring,
gloves, x-acto knife, button, calculator bubble-strip, and a light source.
Once you have gathered all these materials for your black lightsaber, then it is time to put all of these together
in simple steps:
* The first thing to do in assembling your own lightsaber is to get of all your end rings and slip them down the
long pipes. They will try to hook themselves in the flared lips, and then you can just screw them onto the short
connector pipe so you can easily fasten all the three pieces together. This will be the beginning form of your
handle.
* Then, try and arrange all the O-rings onto the grip. There is no standard arrangement for these O-rings, so you
can just incorporate your ideas and design the handle the way you want to.
* After this, you should cut the rubber handle strips to the length that you want and then affix them to the black
lightsaber handle. Carefully cut all of them in equal lengths and then try to place them evenly along the
shaft.
* Try to make the lightsaber look unique and witty by adding some decorative flares to it. You can use magnetic and
weather sealing strips to try to create designs for the handle and the body. You can also add some buttons and
calculator bubble strips.
* After you are done with this, you must now add the emitter-end strip to the handle's top. This will probably
involve wrapping the disposal gaskets around or on top.
* Then, screw the end cap and place it at the emitter end.
* Get your belt hook and secure it to the stopper. In cases wherein you have a metal stopper, it is time to drill a
hole into it. Then, plug the handle-end using your stopper. If it doesn't fit right, you can add glue to it.
There you have it. Although this little Jedi weapon doesn't light up like in the movies, this black lightsaber
gives just enough handling experience for enthusiasts and Jedi-fanatics. You can use this thing in Halloween
parties and let everyone have a taste of what it's like to be a real Jedi for a day.
