How to make a Luke Skywalker lightsaber
The family of the Skywalkers has been the most popular clan featured in any hit movie series. Their courage,
intelligence and unique skills in the art of battle have always been the most admired talents appreciated by their
millions of fans and supporters worldwide.
A Luke Skywalker costume would never be complete without a Luke Skywalker Lightsaber. In fact, the Luke
Skywalker Lightsaber is one essential costume accessory that is normally purchased by a lot of Star Wars fans,
either as a collectible or just a plain costume element.
In creating a Luke Skywalker Lightsaber, you will need a Graflex Camera Flash to produce a much closer replica
of the original Luke Skywalker lightsaber. Luke Skywalker used the lightsaber in the Star Wars' Empire Strikes Back
and A New Hope. The original props department responsible for the magnificent lightsabers seen in the Star Wars
movies used the same flash to create the first batch of lightsabers. A Graflex Camera Flash has already been
installed with numerous metal pieces essential for the flash tube to work effectively. It was during 1940s that the
Graflex Camera Flash was created. These flash tubes are usually sold in leading photography equipment stores and in
numerous online stores that essentially sell camera flash tubes and equipments.
To create a perfect replica of the Luke Skywalker lightsaber, you will need a screw driver, a D-ring, a Graflex
Camera Flash Tube, a clear plastic with 1 cm flat beads, a window shield wiper blade or rubber grips, a pair of
scissors, and super glue.
First, remove the circular dish from the flash tube's top by using a Philips head screwdriver. Make sure that
you take careful action in doing this as the balance and durability of the Luke Skywalker lightsaber will be
dependent on how the top of the flash tubes are cut.
Next, cut 3 pieces of rubber grips or some windshield wiper blades with measurements equivalent to 3 inches.
Use the superglue to affix the rubber grips or the windshield blades vertically on the bottom sides of the flash
tubes. Make sure that the grips or the rubbers have a half an inch gap in between them. Cover the tube's bottom by
using a hard cardboard or panels.
Apply an ample amount of super glue on the top of the elevated rectangle piece. Attach the flat beads across the
rectangular piece.
Attach the D-ring at the bottom of the flashtube by using the super glue. The screws that usually come along
with the ring are already obsolete in this project so you can put them aside.
Place the Luke Skywalker lightsaber in a working surface and let the glue dry completely. After several minutes
or hours, you can let your children play with the Luke Skywalker lightsaber while wearing the perfect jedi costume
or outfit.
Majority of Luke Skywalker lightsabers can also be found in several specialty stores such as the Master
Replicas, where the most expensive but excellent Force FX Lightsaber Construction set can be found.
